JUSTICE ASHWANI KUMAR SINGH ORAL ORDER 30-01-2016 Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel for the State.

The petitioner seeks bail in connection with Lalganj P.S.Case No.241 of 2014 registered under Sections 498A and 307 of the Indian Penal Code as well as Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

It has been contended that the informant herself sprinkled Kerosene oil on her body and set herself ablaze and implicated the petitioner and others by giving false statement. On the other hand, learned counsel for the State has vehemently opposed the application for grant of bail. He has submitted that the informant is an injured witness to the occurrence. She has categorically stated that it was the petitioner,

Patna High Court Cr.Misc. No.52239 of 2015 (3) dt.30-01-2016 2/2 who had sprinkled Kerosene oil on her body and a co-accused, namely, Raju Thakur had set her ablaze causing severe burn injury.

Regard being had to the nature of allegation, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, his prayer for bail is rejected.
