2. The petitioner, a hapless widow of the erstwhile employee, who died in harness on 16.01.2021 while working as Assistant Professor of Zoology in S.P. Jain College, Sasaram, has preferred the present writ petition seeking a direction upon the respondent University to ensure payment of arrears of difference of salary from November 2008 to November 2019 to the tune of Rs.50,058,28/- along with interest.

3. Learned Advocate for the petitioner submitted that while the husband of the petitioner was working in the College,

Patna High Court CWJC No.11305 of 2024 dt.22-09-2025 2/3 in the meantime, 6th Pay Revision was introduced with effect from 01.01.2006 and subsequently 7th Pay Revision. However, the petitioner's husband was not allowed the arrears of difference of salary on account of pay revision from November 2008 to November 2019. Despite the calculation made by the Principal of the college concerned and sent it to the Registrar of the University for allotment and payment of the same, no action has been taken. For redressal of the grievance, the petitioner has also filed a representation but to no avail; hence the present writ petition.

4. Learned Advocate for the University seeks a short adjournment to get instruction and file counter affidavit.

In view of the nature of the grievance and the materials available on record, this Court directs the Registrar of the Veer Kunwar Singh University, Ara to consider the claim of the petitioner for which representation has also been filed along with calculation chart for payment of arrears of difference of salary of her late husband on account of pay revisions, preferably within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order, and ensure payment of all the admissible due amount within the period stipulated.

6. With the aforesaid direction, the present writ petition stands disposed.
