2. It transpires to this Court that, vide orders dated 19.06.2018, 14.11.2024, 21.11.2024, and 12.12.2024, the matter has been adjourned at the instance of the petitioner. Once again, despite repeated calls, no one has appeared on behalf of the petitioner.

3. Learned counsel for the Bihar Education Project

Patna High Court CWJC No. 1216 of 2017(7) dt.05-08-2025 2/3 Council and learned counsel for the State jointly submits that the counsel for the petitioner is not appearing in this case as the present matter has become infructuous. The present writ petition was filed for the engagement of the petitioner as Bal Didi or Lok Didi, which was essentially part of a policy. Counsel further submits that the said scheme has already been closed. In support of this argument, counsel refers to a matter decided vide order dated 26.02.2014, passed in CWJC No. 22252 of 2012 (Anju Kumari & Ors. v. The State of Bihar & Ors.), which states as follows:- "Engagement of the petitioners as Bal Didi or Lok Didi was part of a policy, which was being run by the Bihar Education Project Council.

The efficacy of such establishment was reconsidered and the project abandoned, if not shut down. If the engagement of these petitioners was on a contractual basis on a notional amount which they were getting for the period of work taken from them, there cannot be a direction to continue with the policy only to keep the petitioners busy and engaged under the respondents, more so when they do not have any statutory or constitutional right to do so.

Writ has no merit. It is dismissed."

4. In light of the submissions made above and upon perusal of the record, the present writ petition stands dismissed as having become infructuous.
