JUSTICE JITENDRA KUMAR ORAL ORDER 29-08-2025 The present writ petition has been preferred by the petitioners for direction to the Respondents-State Authorities to provide police protection in the light of Rahika P.S. Case No. 130 of 2020, registered by the petitioners against some accused persons, from whom they have threat. It is also prayed that case should be investigated by a police officer of the rank of I.G., and not by a Police Sub-Inspector.

2. In course of hearing, it transpires that Rahika P.S. Case No. 130 of 2020 has been fully investigated and chargesheet has been submitted.

3. There is a Witness Protection Scheme working at the district level, under which Committee comprising District Judge, District Superintendent of Police and District Public Prosecutor are members and they consider the application of any witnesses regarding threat from the accused persons. Hence, the petitioners have right and liberty to move such application before such Witness Protection Committee for providing security.

4. Hence, the present petition is disposed of, giving liberty to the petitioners to move such application before Witness Protection Committee at the district level. (Jitendra Kumar, J) shoaib/- U T
