The case of the petitioner, in brief, is that although he retired as Revenue Karmchari from Madhepur on 31.10.2011, however, he has still not been given any amount under the head of Group Insurance Scheme and also the benefit of General Provident Fund with up-to-date interest thereon. It is further submitted on behalf of the petitioner that he has filed an application before the District Magistrate, Madhubani for payment of his benefit of Group Insurance Scheme as also the benefit of General Provident Fund. Patna High Court CWJC No.4303 of 2017(3) dt.24-04-2019 2/3 old man of 68 years with many old age ailments and he is facing difficulties due to paucity of fund.

A counter affidavit has been filed on behalf of the General Provident Fund Officer, Madhubani enclosing therein two letters bearing Letter No. 235 dated 24.05.2017 and Letter No. 264 dated 08.06.2017. From perusal of the said letters, it appears that nearly two years back District Provident Fund Officer, Madhubani had written to the Circle Officer, Madhepur, Madhubani, demanding the details of GPF final payment application along with GPF deduction statements of the entire service period with respect to the petitioner. However, it appears that the same has still not been received.

Having heard the learned counsels for the parties, this application is being disposed of with a direction to the petitioners to file a fresh representation before the respondent nos. 3 and 5 with respect to dues under the Group Insurance Scheme and before the respondent no. 4 with respect to release of the fund under the head of General Provident Fund. If the representation is filed by the petitioner, the respondents may ensure payment of the admitted dues under the head of G.I.C. and G.P.F. along with up-to-date statutory interest within a period of four weeks.
