JUSTICE RAJEEV RANJAN PRASAD ORAL ORDER 01-02-2019 Heard learned Senior Counsel representing the petitioner and learned counsel representing the Patna Municipal Corporation (hereinafter referred as 'the Corporation'). A limited prayer has been made in the light of Annexure-6 dated 30th January, 2017 written by A.P.O. (Policy), Regional Passport Office, Government of India, Patna. It appears that there is certain dispute with respect to the date of birth of petitioner. The Passport Authorities have written to the Advocate of the petitioner vide Annexure-6 wherein it is stated that the office has already referred the birth certificate submitted by her parents to the issuing authorities to confirm the valid one as on date. The letter further states that response is yet to be received and a reminder letter is being issued to the issuing

Learned Senior counsel representing the petitioner submits that even though two years have gone past, the issuing authorities have not taken any decision and no communication has been made to the Regional Passport Office, Patna which is causing inconvenience to the petitioner in pursuing her study. In the given facts and circumstances, this Court directs the Municipal Commissioner of the Corporation to look into the grievance of the petitioner as also the reference made by the Regional Passport Office, Patna with regard to the correction in date of birth of the petitioner and take an appropriate decision thereon within a period of 30 days from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order. The response should also be informed to the Regional Passport Office, Patna within the given period.

This application stands disposed off.
