ANJANA MISHRA ORAL ORDER 14-11-2019 Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State. The petitioner seeks a mandamus commanding the concerned respondents to consider his claim for appointment on compassionate ground on account of the death of his mother Bindu Kumari who was a Block Teacher.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that though the petitioner has submitted his application on 13.06.2019, the authorities have failed to process his application and the matter

Patna High Court CWJC No.16272 of 2019(3) dt.14-11-2019 2/2 has been drifting since long. It is further submitted that the petitioner fulfils the criteria which are required for being appointed on compassionate ground in lieu of the death of his mother and, therefore, the Block Education Officer, Sameli, Katihar, vide his letter dated 29.04.2019, forwarded the application of the petitioner for being considered for compassionate appointment. Learned counsel, however, submits that thereafter no order has been passed.

Considering the aforementioned submissions, this Court directs the authority being the District Education Officer, Katihar (Respondent No.3) to look into the matter and take a positive decision in accordance with law on or before the 30th of March, 2020.

With the aforementioned directions, the application stands disposed of.
