The petitioner has invoked the jurisdiction of this Court seeking a direction upon the respondents to act upon and give effect to the pension revision authorisation letter dated 13.09.2019 issued by the office of the Accountant General (A& E), Bihar, Patna refixing and revising thereunder monthly pension of the petitioner in the background of superannuation of the petitioner from the post of Head Clerk on 30.11.2000 as also the fact the petitioner has attained the age of more than 80 years.

A counter affidavit has been filed on behalf of the Accountant General, Bihar with a categorical averments that revised authority of pensioner has already been sent to the Bank vide letter No. 2593 dated 05.12.2019 and an information has also been given in this regard by the Indian Bank that arrears of amount has already been credited to the pension account. Since the earlier letter was not clear with respect to the relevant period, a reminder was sent to the Bank and in response thereto, vide letter dated 19.09.2023, the Bank clarified that the 20% enhancement in pension after attaining the age of 80 years had already been added and paid to the pensioner in June 2020 itself.

4. Considering the aforesaid facts, prima facie, this Court finds that the grievance of the petitioner no longer survives and the continuance of the present writ petition is not warranted. Accordingly, the present writ petition stands disposed of.
