JUSTICE KISHORE KUMAR MANDAL ORAL ORDER 22-01-2016 Heard the Counsel for the petitioner and the State. The wife of the petitioner fell victim of flood that ensued in the village in the year 2011. The petitioner raised a claim for payment of ex-gratia amount.

In the counter affidavit, it has been stated that on a representation filed in this regard before the Collector, the matter was examined and the petitioner was found entitled to payment of a sum of Rs. one lac as ex-gratia amount. There is no dispute at the Bar that the said amount on being made available to the administration has been paid to the petitioner. It has been stated that the ex-gratia amount is inadequate.

It will not be appropriate to examine the said grievance

Counsel for the petitioner seeks permission of the Court to approach the respondent for the same. Considering the above, the application stands disposed of with the said liberty.
