In this case, the petitioner is seeking anticipatory bail in connection with Special Case No. 32 of 1997 arising from Vigilance Case No. 28 of 1997 registered for offence punishable under sections 420, 120 (B) of the Indian Penal Code and 13 (2) read with 12 (i) D of P.C. Act.

This case is of 1997 and the Vigilance has filed charge sheet in 2005 and the present case has been filed in 2019. Looking to the period, this Court is of the view that it is not a fit case where this Court should exercise the power to grant bail to the petitioner and accordingly his prayer for bail is rejected. However, if he surrenders before the court below and prays for regular bail, the court below without being prejudiced
