JUSTICE RAVI RANJAN ORAL JUDGMENT (Per: HONOURABLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE) Date : 20-08-2018 This public interest litigation is filed against the respondents-State for not filling up the post of Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Members of the Scheduled Castes Commission and Scheduled Tribes Commission in the State of Bihar. Mr. Lalit Kishore, learned Advocate General, appearing for the State of Bihar, has stated at the Bar that the State Government is very much conscious about the importance of the constitution of the Scheduled Castes Commission and Scheduled Tribes Commission in the State of Bihar. He has further stated at the Bar that the Scheduled Castes Commission and Scheduled

Patna High Court CWJC No.12132 of 2017 dt.20-08-2018 2/2 Tribes Commission in the State of Bihar shall be constituted with the Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Members of the Commissions within two months from today. The concerned respondents and the State of Bihar are directed to act accordingly and see to it that appointment of Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Members of the Scheduled Castes Commission and Scheduled Tribes Commission in the State of Bihar are made within two months from today.

With this, the present petition is disposed of. Liberty to revive the petition by the petitioner in case the present order is not complied with and/or appointment of the Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Members of the aforesaid Commissions in the State of Bihar are not made within two months as stated hereinabove.
