JUSTICE MOHIT KUMAR SHAH ORAL ORDER 11-04-2023 The present writ petition has been filed for directing the respondents to pay compensation to the petitioner to the tune of Rs.5,00,000/- on account of death of her husband due to electrocution.
At the outset, the learned senior counsel appearing for the respondents has submitted that a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- has already been sanctioned and paid to the petitioner as ex gratia payment vide cheque dated 13.09.2017, as per the then prevailing policy of respondent Company, inasmuch as the husband of the
Patna High Court CWJC No.2092 of 2017(2) dt.11-04-2023 2/2 petitioner had died on account of electrocution on 19.10.2009. At this juncture, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks liberty on behalf of the petitioner to agitate her subsisting grievance pertaining to grant of enhanced compensation by taking recourse to such other alternative remedies as are otherwise available under the law.
