The petitioner seeks bail in Kuchaikote P.S. case No. 141 of 2016 under Section 272, 273, 420 of the Indian Penal Code and 47(a)/ 47(g) of the Bihar Excise Amended Act, 2016. The informant signaled a Bolero jeep to stop but the driver of the vehicle sped up and on chase the vehicle was recovered. The driver of the vehicle managed to flee away. The petitioner was apprehended on the spot and from the vehicle different brands of Indian made foreign liquor were recovered. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner was a passenger and he has nothing to do with liquor recovered from the vehicle. The petitioner is in jail since 17.07.2016.
