Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the State.

This is a petition for grant of regular bail for offences under Sections 304B, 201, 504 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

The petitioner is father-in-law of the victim, Rakha Kumari, who died within seven years of her marriage in unnatural circumstance and her dead body was disposed of without information to her parents or to the local police. There is allegation of demand of dowry and torture for the same. The case diary would reveal that allegation of demand has been supported by parents and villagers of the deceased.

Submission of the petitioner is that the husband

Patna High Court Cr.Misc. No.52421 of 2016 (5) dt.27-03-2017 2/2 is already in custody and the petitioner has got no criminal antecedent.

Considering the nature of allegation against the petitioner, who is in custody since 19.09.2016, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail. The prayer for bail is refused.

However, the petitioner may renew his prayer for bail after completion of one year in custody, before the Court below itself.
