The petitioner is languishing in custody in connection with Sasaram (Muffasil) Police Station Case No. 990 of 2016 for offences punishable under Sections 147, 148, 149, 323, 337, 338, 447, 506 and 307 of the Indian Penal Code.

For land dispute, there is a general and omnibus allegation of commission of assault against the petitioner. Submission is that co-accused, Dhanji Ram and Niranjan Ram have already been allowed bail in Cr. Misc. No. 51927 of 2016.
