====================================================== CORAM: HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE MIHIR KUMAR JHA ORAL ORDER 26-08-2015 Heard learned counsel for the parties.
Having regard to the nature of allegation for offence under Sections 7 and 13(2) read with Section 13(1)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act and that whatever materials have surfaced will go to show that there is an active involvement of the petitioner in the offence, this Court would not be inclined to grant privilege of anticipatory bail to the petitioner specially when the petitioner himself is a police officer. That being so, the prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is rejected but then it is also made clear that if the petitioner surrenders and makes prayer for regular bail, the same shall be considered on its own merit without being prejudiced by rejection of his anticipatory bail by this order.
