====================================================== CORAM: HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE PRABHAT KUMAR SINGH ORAL ORDER 14-07-2021 Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the State. The petitioner seeks regular bail in Hilsa Police Station Case No. 526 of 2019 registered for the offences punishable under sections 302/34 of the Indian Penal Code. It is alleged that the petitioner along with his family members subjected the deceased to cruelty for dowry and when the demand of dowry was not fulfilled, accused persons strangulated her to death.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner happens to be the husband of the deceased and he was working as a driver of the SP, Munger at the time of occurrence and as such he is no way concerned with the incident. Petitioner is in custody since 2.12.2019.

Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer for

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.9978 of 2021(2) dt.14-07-2021 2/2 bail and submits that there is specific allegation that the petitioner used to demand dowry and committed torture on her and in league with his family members killed his wife in a planned conspiracy.

In view of the specific allegation against the petitioner as well as the fact that the informant's daughter died within seven years of marriage under unnatural circumstance and the petitioner is the husband of the deceased, his prayer for bail is refused.

In view of period of custody of the petitioner, let the trial be concluded as early as possible.
