JUSTICE CHAKRADHARI SHARAN SINGH ORAL ORDER 09-10-2017 Today I have disposed of CWJC No. 1292 of 2017 with certain directions in respect of the grievance of the students belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes categories, pursuing their Engineering Course in a Engineering College in the State of Andhra Pradesh.
Similar relief has been sought on behalf of these petitioners, who are said to have pursued their course in Rajdhani Engineering College, near Mancheshwar Railway Station, Bhubneshwar, Orissa.
It is the stand of the State Government that that
Patna High Court CWJC No.3048 of 2017(10) dt.09-10-2017 2/3 scholarship amount has been paid, so far these petitioners are concerned.
Learned counsel for the petitioners have submitted that the payments, which have been made are too meager and not in accordance with the scheme of the Union Government/State Government framed in that behalf.
This Court finds it difficult to decide the grievance raised on behalf of the petitioners on the basis of the pleadings and documents, which are there on record and come to a definite conclusion as to whether the amount, which has been paid is less or adequate as per the scheme.
This application is, therefore, disposed of with a direction to the Principal Secretary, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Welfare Department, Government of Bihar, to consider the representation of these petitioner, if filed, within two weeks from today, raising their specific grievance, within a period of six weeks.
The Court expects the Principal Secretary, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Welfare Department, Government of Bihar to refer to the provisions of the scheme governing the scholarship in question, if the Principal Secretary, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Welfare Department, Government of
Patna High Court CWJC No.3048 of 2017(10) dt.09-10-2017 3/3 Bihar intends to reject the claim of these petitioners. This application stands disposed of.
