The present Writ application has been filed for a direction to the respondent authorities to grant Arms licence for N.P. Bore Revolver/Pistol to the petitioner.

It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner has remained Mukhiya for two terms of Kushadhar Gram Panchayat. Though the petitioner is having an arms licence, being Arm Licence No.2/12, but since he is socially and politically active, hence now he needs another Arms licence for N.P. Bore Revolver/Pistol. The petitioner submitted an application before the authorities concerned on 04.12.2015, as contained in Annexure-1. Subsequently, the respondent no.5, Officer-in-Charge, Nokha Police Station, Rohtas was directed to

Patna High Court CWJC No.4875 of 2017(2) dt.25-01-2018 2/2 submit verification report and the petitioner has come to know that the report has already been submitted and the recommendation has been made in favour of the petitioner. The petitioner contacted the office of respondent nos. 2 and 3 several times and submitted representation dated 11.01.2017, as contained in Annexure-2, but till date the issue of grant of Arms licence of pistol/revolver has not been decided by the respondent authorities.

Mr. Parth Sarthy, learned GP-4 submits that at present he is not having any instruction, whether the issue of grant of licence has already been decided by the authorities, particularly, by the respondent no.2 or not, but if it has not already been decided, the issue will be decided within a time frame. It is expected from the respondent no.2, the District Magistrate, Sasaram, Rohtas, to decide the issue of grant of licence of the petitioner within a period of three months of receipt/production of a copy of this order.

The Writ application is, accordingly, disposed of with the observation and direction aforesaid.
