1. The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following relief(s):- "1(i) To issue a writ in the nature of Certiorari to quash the order 01.09.2008 passed by the Inspector General of Police, Bihar Patna with respect to memorial appeal filed by the petitioner against his dismissal order from service as contained in letter bearing Memo No 4119 dated 01.09.2008 as contained in Annexure 7 to the writ application.

(ii) To issue a writ in the nature of Certiorari to quash the order 07.09.2007 passed by the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Purnea Range, Purnea, with respect to the appeal filed

Patna High Court CWJC No.14065 of 2022(2) dt.27-02-2024 2/3 by the petitioner against his dismissal order from service as contained in letter bearing Merno No 972 dated 07.09.2007 as contained In Annexure-6 to the writ application.

(iii) To issue a writ in the nature of Certiorari to quash the order dated 23.04.2006 passed by the Superintendent of Police, Purnea contained in Memo No 1168 dated 23.04.2006 by which the petitioner has been dismissed from the service as contained in Annexure 4 to the writ application.

(iv) To issue a writ in the nature of Mandamus commanding the respondents to take back the petitioner in service in the similar circumstances the services of other persons have been reinstated."

2. The limited prayer, made by the petitioner, in the present writ petition is to direct the Home Secretary, Government of Bihar, Patna to dispose off the mercy petition, filed by the petitioner, which has been annexed as annexure-8 to the present writ petition.

3. The learned counsel for the respondent-State submits that in case the aforesaid mercy petition, filed by the petitioner, is yet to be disposed off and is not time barred, the same shall be disposed off, within a fixed time frame.

4. Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the

Patna High Court CWJC No.14065 of 2022(2) dt.27-02-2024 3/3 case, I direct the Home Secretary, Government of Bihar, Patna to expeditiously consider the aforesaid mercy petition, filed by the petitioner, in case the same is maintainable and has not yet been disposed off.

5. The present writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
