JUSTICE SUDHIR SINGH ORAL JUDGMENT (Per: HONOURABLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE) Date: 31-01-2017 The grievance of the petitioner in the present public interest litigation is lack of approval to the Five years Law Degree course run by the Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University. On 11.01.2017, learned counsel for the University referred to the communication dated 14.10.2014 which is to the effect that Hon'ble Chancellor is expected to approve the law degree course within six months.

Today, a counter affidavit on behalf of Respondent Nos. 1 to 3 was filed pointing out that the Hon'ble Chancellor has approved the grant of Degree to the students of L.L.B. five years Degree course on 08.04.2016 subject to the approval of the Regulations by the Senate in the next meeting.

Patna High Court CWJC No.17593 of 2015 dt.31-01-2017 2/2 Learned counsel for the University states that after completing all the formalities, the University will issue Degrees to the students who have undergone five years law course. In view of the stand of the University in the counter affidavit, we find that no other direction is required except we record the statement of the University to complete the process of awarding of degree expeditiously, preferably within a period of six months.
