Mr. Durgesh Nandan-AAG14 ====================================================== CORAM: HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE CHAKRADHARI SHARAN SINGH ORAL ORDER 10-04-2018 The petitioners claim that they are entitled for postmatric scholarship since they belong to the Other Backward
Patna High Court CWJC No.10450 of 2017(2) dt.10-04-2018 2/3 Classes, under certain scheme for award of Post-Matric Scholarship.
On the basis of the pleadings, it appears that there is no dispute over the fact that a deadline was given for submission of online application forms for claiming the said post-matric scholarship. Admittedly, the petitioners did not apply within time. They claim that they are pursuing Diploma in Engineering courses in St. Mary's Technical Campus, Kolkata. This being the admitted fact that the petitioners did not apply within time, as prescribed by the respondents, no positive direction can be issued directing the respondents to grant the petitioners the post-matric scholarship. Learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners has, however, submitted that the institution, where the petitioners are studying, has approached the Director, EBC and BC Welfare Department, Government of Bihar, for grant of scholarship in favour of the petitioners by relaxing the cut off date for submission of application forms.
Let the Director, EBC and BC Welfare Department, Government of Bihar, take a decision in this regard within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.
Patna High Court CWJC No.10450 of 2017(2) dt.10-04-2018 3/3 This application stands disposed of.
