Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the State.

The petitioners apprehend their arrest in connection with Saraiya P.S. Case No.586 of 2021 registered for the offences punishable under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 27 of the Arms Act.

From reading of the FIR, it appears that this is a case of demand of extortion money (Rangdhari). It is surprising that the case has been registered only under section 307 of the Indian

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.63942 of 2021(2) dt.25-05-2022 2/2 Penal Code and various sections applicable in the case for demand of Rangdhari have not been added.

Considering the allegations, this application for anticipatory bail is dismissed.

Let this order be communicated through Fax to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Muzaffarpur, who should issue show cause to the officer-in-charge of Saraiya police station as to what prevented him from registering the case against various sections for extortion. The action taken report be submitted before this Court after four weeks.
