For a direction to the respondent no. 3 the District Magistrate Cum Licensing Authority, Begusarai to consider the application of the petitioner for grant of Arms license of N.P. B. Rifle which is pending before him since 10.01.2023 despite of recommendation made by the respondent no. 4 the Superintendent of

Matihani as contained in memo no. 539/2023 dated 01/04/2013 whereby and where under they have found the petitioner eligible for grant of N.P.B. Rifle License for safety of his life and property." 2.

At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks a direction upon the District Magistrate, Begusarai to dispose off the application, filed by the petitioner on 10.01.2023, for grant of arms licence, within a stipulated time frame.

The learned counsel for the respondentState submits that in case the aforesaid application is still pending consideration, the same shall definitely be disposed off, within a stipulated time frame, as is fixed by this Court. 4.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, I deem it fit and proper to direct the District Magistrate, Begusarai to dispose off the aforesaid application, filed by the petitioner, for grant of arms licence, in case the same has actually been filed and is still pending consideration, by passing a reasoned and a speaking order, in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks of receipt/production of a copy of this order.
