Enraged by the incident, a large number of villagers gathered and not only they set the vehicle on fire but also said to have attacked the police personnel who came to the spot. In relation to that Rani Talab P.S. Case No.144 of 2012 was registered alleging offences under various provisions of law.

The petitioners figured as accused. Apprehending arrest, the petitioners filed A.B.P. No.6274 of 2012 in the court of Sessions Judge, Patna. The same was dismissed on 5.2.2013. Hence, this application for grant of anticipatory bail under Section 438 of Cr.P.C.

Patna High Court Cr.Misc. No.11132 of 2013 (3) dt.01-04-2015 2/2 Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned A.P.P. for the State.

There is no specific allegation against the petitioners and the general allegation is that they were part of the mob who attacked the police personnel and set the vehicles on fire. It is brought to the notice of this Court that several persons figured as accused were granted regular bail and anticipatory bail in the matter and even the petitioners were granted provisional anticipatory bail by this Court, vide order dated 14.3.2013, while calling for the case diary. In view of the facts mentioned above, the application is allowed. Provisional anticipatory bail granted to the petitioners by this Court, vide order dated 14.3.2013, shall be treated as anticipatory bail on regular basis. (L. Narasimha Reddy,CJ) PNM U T
