JUSTICE SANJAY PRIYA ORAL ORDER 18-04-2017 Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and the State. The petitioners seek bail in Excise Case No. 54 of 2017 instituted for the offence under Section-30(a) of the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016.
It is alleged that 2761.38 litres of foreign liquor of different brands alongwith eggs were recovered from the truck. These petitioners are driver and cleaner of the truck. On query, petitioners did not give satisfactory proof for keeping the liquor in the truck.
In such circumstances, considering the recovery of huge quantity of foreign liquor, this court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioners. Accordingly, prayer for bail of the
Patna High Court Cr.Misc. No.11744 of 2017 (4) dt.18-04-2017 2/2 petitioners stands rejected at this stage.
The trial court is directed to expedite the trial of the petitioners.
