The present writ application has been filed by petitioner for correction in the date of birth in the result card issued by the Bihar School Examination Board of Bihar Elementary Teacher (Trained) Eligibility Test-2017 (BETET). Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the date of birth of the petitioner mentioned in the matriculation certificate and intermediate certificate entered by the Board of High School and Intermediate Board, Uttar Pradesh, as 05.08.1990, but in the result of BETET it has wrongly been

Learned counsel for the petitioner would submits that it is now settled that the matriculation certificate is most authentic document for the date of Birth. Error in furnishing the date of birth by the petitioner is not of much consequence as the petitioner has prayed for correction of date of birth on the basis of matriculation certificate issued by Uttar Pradesh Board of Examination, He submits that the respondent Board is required to correct the date of birth entered in the result card of BETET on the basis of entry made in the matriculation certificate.

Considering the facts and circumstances of this case, the writ petition is allowed with a direction to the respondents to make necessary correction in the result card of the petitioner in light of the entry of date of birth in the matriculation certificate and intermediate certificate issued by the Uttar Pradesh Board School at the earliest preferably within a period of 30 days from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order. Accordingly, this writ application is allowed to the aforesaid extent.
