1. The petitioner has approached this Court under Constitutional Writ Jurisdiction for an order of compensation, alleging, inter alia, that he purchased the land in question in the year 2016. The land was acquired by the State Government for expansion of State Highway. However, no compensation was paid to the petitioner after acquisition of
Patna High Court CWJC No.13614 of 2025(2) dt.27-08-2025 2/2 the said land. The petitioner moved before the jurisdictional Circle Officer and he directed the petitioner to move the competent Court for redressal of his grievance.
2. If a piece of land is acquired by the State Government without paying compensation to the petitioner, the competent authority is Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Authority (LARA).
3. Therefore, this Court is not in a position to pass any order as prayed for by the petitioner at this stage.
4. The instant writ petition is disposed of, giving liberty to the petitioner to move before the Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Authority (LARA). (Bibek Chaudhuri, J) skm/- U
