The instant application preferred under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure has been filed by the petitioners for quashing the first information report of Tekari P. S. Case No.

Patna High Court Cr.Misc. No.54627 of 2016 dt.05-07-2018 2/2 293 of 2015 dated 29.07.2015 registered under Section 498-A of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

From perusal of the first information report annexed to this application, I find that a cognizable offence is made out. To hold investigation into a cognizable offence is statutory duty of the police.

In that view of the matter, I see no merit in this application. It is dismissed, accordingly.
