JUSTICE RAJESH KUMAR VERMA ORAL ORDER (Per: HONOURABLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE) 31-10-2025 In the present writ petition, the petitioner has prayed for the following relief/s:

"i. For issuance of an appropriate writ in the nature of Mandamus commanding and directing the Learned Special Judge, Vigilance, Patna to ensure the expeditious disposal of the criminal trial arising out of Magadh University P.S. Case No. 64 of 2000, registered on 17.10.2000, and charge-sheeted on 19.07.2002 (Charge Sheet No. 30/2002), which has been pending for more than two decades.

ii. For issuance of an appropriate writ or direction to the Registrar General of the High Court of Judicature

Patna High Court CWJC No.13333 of 2025(2) dt.31-10-2025 2/2 at Patna to place on record the status of the said criminal trial and the reasons for the unconscionable delay.

iii. For issuance of a direction to constitute a Monitoring Bench or to call for periodic status reports regarding the said case and other similarly placed long-pending trials of corruption cases involving highprofile accused. iv. For issuance of such other order/orders as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the interest of justice and for the protection of the right to speedy trial guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution of India."

2. From perusal of the record, it appears that the petitioner, by way of filing the PIL, has sought for the conclusion of the trial in respect to Magadh University P.S. Case No.64 of 2000. It is surprising that the petitioner has got no concern with the said police case, neither he is the informant, nor he is the accused in the said case.

3. Considering the aforesaid facts, we find no merits in the present writ application.

4. Accordingly, the same stands dismissed.
