JUSTICE DINESH KUMAR SINGH ORAL ORDER 01-03-2017 The present writ application has been preferred by the petitioner for a direction the respondent authorities (Postal Department) to pay the maturity amount of the National Saving Certificate purchased by the petitioner at Hyderabad. Mr. S.D. Sanjay, learned Addl. Solicitor General submits that the maturity amount of National Saving Certificate could not be given earlier since the petitioner purchased the same at Hyderabad but claiming the maturity amount at Biharsharif without original National Saving Certificate which was lost.
Patna High Court CWJC No.10993 of 2014 (5) dt.01-03-2017 2/3 Mr. S.D. Sanjay, learned Addl. Solicitor General produced the letter dated 23.02.2017 issued under the signature of Assistant Director (L.C.) from the office of Chief P.M.G., Bihar Circle, Patna addressed to the Addl. Solicitor General of India and photocopy of the receiving of the petitioner, let it be kept on record. The Letter dated 23.02.2017 suggests that the complain of the petitioner has been settled by the department of Posts and a sum of `49,698/- has been paid through SBI, Biharsharif, Nalanda through Cheque No. 099048 dated 22.02.2017 as maturity amount. Receiving of the cheque has been acknowledged by the petitioner hence now he has no complain against the department of post for above said certificate. The receiving of the petitioner reads as follows:- "Received a SBI, Biharsharif Cheque No.
099048 dated 22.02.2017 for Rs.49,698/-(Rs. Forty Nine Thousand Six Hunder Ninety Eight only) issued by Postmster, Biharsharif HO in the name of Shree Nivas Prasad Singh against the discharge value of duplicate 6NS/06EE 027497 & 06027498 each for Rs. 10,000/- and 68DD 935627 for Rs. 5,000/- (issued in lieu of 6NS/66EE 911665 and 6/NS 66EE 911666 each for Rs. 10,000/- and 35DD 797092 for Rs. 5,000/- issued by ECIL PO Hyderabad under Regd.
No.
14042 dated 06.12.2004 in the name of Sri Nivash Prasad Singh).
Now, I have no complaint against the Department of Posts for the above said certificates."
