The prayer for bail of the petitioner was earlier rejected vide order dated 20.06.2018 passed in Cr. Misc. No. 21310 of 2018.

Mr. Bikram Deo Singh, learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner is in custody since 14.02.2017 but the trial has not yet concluded. A report was called for by this Court on an earlier occasion which has been received and kept at 'Flag-X'. A perusal of the report indicates that out of eleven charge sheet witnesses, four witnesses including the informant have been examined.

No.54123 of 2019(4) dt.03-07-2020 2/2 Under the circumstances, especially taking into account the period of custody of the petitioner, this Court directs that the trial be concluded within a period of six months positively. All steps shall be taken by the trial court to conclude the trial within the aforesaid period.

In case the trial is not concluded without any laches on the part of the petitioner, he would be at liberty to approach the court below for grant of bail. With the aforesaid direction/observation, the application stands disposed off.
