Suspension was rightly warranted in a case where petitioner was caught red-handed while taking bribe of Rs.10, 000/- from one Kapildeo Sahni for not expediting the enquiry or presenting the enquiry report.

In a matter like this, the District Magistrate, Samastipur, is directed to ensure that if the enquiry has not been completed, it should be expedited and completed within a period of three months. The outcome of the enquiry will decide the status of the petitioner.
