ANSARI) Date: 14-09-2015 This application, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, in the nature of Public Interest Litigation, has been filed by the petitioner seeking, inter alia, a direction from this Court to the respondents to take appropriate action against officials of Panchayat Raj, Purvi Harihas, Block Hussainganj, District Siwan, with respect to irregularity/illegality in execution of different schemes, more particularly, the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
Patna High Court CWJC No.1959 of 2015 dt.14-09-2015 2/2 Learned counsel, appearing on behalf of the petitioner, admits that First Information Report has already been lodged, with regard to the above, by the District Programme Officer of the concerned district and Hussainganj Police Station Case No.191 of 2014 has been registered accordingly.
In our opinion, in the facts and circumstances of the case, no further direction is required to be issued by this Court except a direction to respondent No.3, namely, District Officer, Siwan, to take, as the competent authority, appropriate steps, in accordance with law, under Bihar Panchayat Raj Act, 2006, with respect to the irregularities/illegalities allegedly committed by the Mukhiya concerned.
This Public Interest Litigation application stands disposed of accordingly.
