This application for anticipatory bail arises out of Barachatti P.S. Case No. 144 of 2017, disclosing the offence under Sections 341, 342, 354/34 of the Indian Penal Code. The petitioners are students and the informant is also a student. Allegedly, the accused persons attempted to molest her and had pulled her long scarf when she was returning from the coaching centre. There is specific allegation against these petitioners in the FIR to the aforesaid effect. Grant of anticipatory bail, in such circumstance, will not be proper in my view.

Considering the seriousness of the allegation, I am not inclined to grant the petitioners privilege of anticipatory bail.

However, the petitioners are directed to surrender before the Court below within four weeks from today and seek regular bail, if so advised. If they do so, their application for regular bail shall be considered on its own merit without being prejudiced by rejection of the present application for grant of anticipatory bail by this Court.
