ANJANA MISHRA ORAL ORDER 01-05-2017 Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned counsel for the respondent -Dena Bank. Though, the matter has been pending since 2007, today, learned counsel for the petitioner informs that in pursuance of the earlier directions, the bank has made payment of certain amounts of interest. However, certain amounts which were deducted by way of income tax at source still remain to be paid for which recalculation is necessary. The bank has, however, disputed the same but learned counsel for the Bank submits that such disputes shall be attended to by the respondent -Bank and disposed of by means of a reasoned order.
It is open to the petitioner to sit across the table with the respondent-Bank and enter into a negotiation with documents available to him.
The said calculations/recalculations should be made within a period of three months from today. If however, any disputes still remain, it shall be open to the petitioner to approach this court later, if so advised.
With the aforesaid observations/directions, the writ application stands disposed of.
