JUSTICE MOHIT KUMAR SHAH ORAL ORDER 22-08-2024 The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following reliefs:- "1(a). For a direction to the Respondents to dispose of the application dated 1.12.2023, ref. No. 05140A186A823, filed by the petitioner, before the District Magistrate, Aurangabad, for issuance of a new Arms Licence for safety purpose, which is pending before him since long back.

(b). For directing the respondents Authority to pass an order in favour of petitioner, by granting Arms license to the petitioner for the sake of his life."

At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks a direction upon the District Magistrate, Aurangabad, to dispose off the pending application, filed by the petitioner on 1.12.2023, for grant of arms license.

Per contra, the learned counsel for the Respondent-State submits that in case, the petitioner has filed an application for grant of arms license and the same is still pending, it shall be disposed off, within a fixed time frame.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, I deem it fit and proper to direct the District Magistrate, Aurangabad, to consider the application, filed by the petitioner, for grant of arms license, in case the same has actually been filed and is still pending and pass a reasoned and a speaking order, in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks of receipt / production of a copy of this order. 5.

Accordingly, the present writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
