The Court appreciates the fair stand taken by learned counsel for the State where at the very outset, it is submitted that there has been laches on the part of the State functionaries and the petitioner is entitled to payment of interest on G.P.F. from the date due till the date of actual payment, and that the same shall be paid within three weeks.

In view of the aforesaid, learned counsel for the

Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed off with a direction to respondents no. 3 and 4 to ensure that such payment of interest on G.P.F. from the date due till the date of actual payment is made to the petitioner within three weeks, as has been assured by learned State Counsel. The same shall be credited into the account of the petitioner.

The petitioner shall not be obliged to serve copy on learned counsel for the State as the order is being passed in the presence of the learned State Counsel.
