The petitioner by filing the present writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a direction upon the respondent specially respondent no. 3 to issue land rent receipt in the name of the petitioner with respect to a land appertaining to Tauzi No. 1175, Thana No. 77, Khesra No. 5638, 5708, 5710, Khata no. 1756 admeasuring area 1.67

Patna High Court CWJC No.12606 of 2024(2) dt.27-08-2024 2/2 decimal as well as Khata no. 1757, Khesra No. 1707 admeasuring area 9 decimal.

3. Learned Advocate for the petitioner contended that the petitioner is bonafide raiyat of the said land in as much as khatian has been prepared in the name of grand-father of the petitioner. Despite several application filed before the concerned Circle Officer as well as District Magistrate, the application of the petitioner with regard to the issuance of rent receipt has not been disposed of.

4. Considering the nature of the grievance the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the Circle Officer, Katihar to consider the application of the petitioner and dispose of the same preferably within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.

5. Needless to observe that before disposal of the application the notices shall be served to all the necessary stakeholders.

6. The writ petition stands disposed of.
