The grievance of the petitioner is that though an application was made in the year 2011 itself for grant of firearm licence for N.P. bore rifle within the territory of State of Bihar but no final decision has been taken by the Licensing Authority as yet. It is also stated that the father of the petitioner was holding arms licence no. 508 and possessed a rifle but as he is an old-aged person and intends to transfer his firearm in favour of his son. Having regards to the aforementioned facts and circumstances, the writ application is being disposed of with a direction to District Magistrate-cum-Licensing Authority, Motihari, East Champaran to take a final decision in the matter of the petitioner
Patna High Court CWJC No.5396 of 2016 dt.28-03-2016 2/2 on its own merit and in accordance with law expeditiously preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt/ production of a copy of this order.
