JUSTICE ANIL KUMAR UPADHYAY ORAL JUDGMENT Date : 31-07-2018 Considering the fact that the mother of the petitioner died on 25.04.1986, 32 years back, there is no point to grant any indulgence to the petitioner for grant of compassionate appointment after 32 years of death of the employee.

2. The compassionate appointment is not a reservation of right. It is covered by a policy decision of the Government whereby a time limit of 5 years for submission of application for compassionate appointment has been fixed. The idea behind compassionate appointment is to provide immediate financial assistance to tide over the sudden financial hardship of the family of the deceased employee.
