1. The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following relief(s):- "1(i) For issuance of appropriate writ/ writs, in the nature of writ of certiorari for quashing the order dated 18.06.2024 passed in Arms Cancellation Case No. 36 of 2024, by Respondent No. 2, whereby the said respondent has rejected the application of the petitioner for issuance of arms license of N.P. Bore Revolver/Pistol on an erroneous ground, without proper appreciation of law and facts. (ii) For directing the respondents specially

Patna High Court CWJC No.12860 of 2024(2) dt.09-09-2024 2/2 respondent no. 2 to issue license of N.P. Bore Revolver/ Pistol to the petitioner."

At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks liberty on behalf of the petitioner to challenge the order dated 18.06.2024, passed in Arms Cancellation Case No.36 of 2024, by the District Magistrate, Aurangabad by filing appropriate appeal, under Section 18 of the Arms Act, 1959. Liberty so sought is granted.

3. It is needless to state that in case appropriate appeal is filed, within a period of four weeks from today, the appellate authority shall consider the same on merits and pass a reasoned and a speaking order, in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks, thereafter.

4. The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
