The petitioner apprehends his arrest in connection with Palasi P.S. Case No.44 of 2016 (G.R.No.750 of 2016) instituted under Sections 366, 376 and 511/34 of the Indian Penal Code.

The petitioner was earlier granted provisional bail by order dated 23.02.2017 for a period of two months or till the submission of chargesheet whichever is earlier. Now, two months have already elapsed. Therefore, the period for provisional bail has expired so petitioner is required to move a petition before the court below for seeking regular bail which shall be considered on its own merit on the basis of materials collected during investigation.
