The petitioners apprehend their arrest in Gopalpur P.S. Case No. 14 of 2017 registered for the offences punishable under Sections 420 and 406 of the Indian Penal Code and under Section 4 of the Dowry Prohibition of the Act.
The bride lodged the case against groom and his parents alleging therein that her marriage was settled with Ravindra Kumar, the petitioner no.1. The date of engagement was 06.05.2016 and the marriage was to be solemnized in the month of December-January but the petitioner no.1 and others demanded more dowry and refused to marry with the informant. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that some
Patna High Court Cr.Misc. No.18885 of 2017 (2) dt.19-05-2017 2/2 dispute arose between the two sides and Panchayati was also held. The dispute was settled amicably.
Considering the facts aforesaid, the petitioners above named, in the event of their arrest or surrender before the court below within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order, are directed to be enlarged on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 10,000/- (Ten Thousand) each with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Patna in Gopalpur P.S. Case No. 14 of 2017, Subject to the conditions as laid down under Section 438 (2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
