The grievance of the petitioners in the present writ petition is that, though the lands belonging to them have been acquired under the provisions of The Land Acquisition Act, 1894 and accordingly award was prepared, however, till date compensation has not been paid to them.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners submits that for redressal of their grievances and for payment of compensation, the petitioners filed their representation before the respondent Land Acquisition Officer, Bhagalpur, but till date neither the representation has been disposed of nor the compensation has been paid to them.

In above view of the matter, the petitioners are directed to appear before the respondent Land Acquisition Officer,

Patna High Court CWJC No.9103 of 2015 (2) dt.24-08-2015 Bhagalpur with a fresh representation as also a certified copy of the present order within a period of three weeks from today. On their appearance, the respondent Land Acquisition Officer, Bhagalpur shall examine their claims and shall dispose of the representation by a reasoned and speaking order and, if he comes to a conclusion that the claims raised on behalf of the petitioners are admissible to them, then prompt steps shall be taken for payment of compensation to them at an early date preferably within a period of four weeks from the date of filing of the representation by the petitioners.

The writ petition stands finally disposed of with the observations and directions made above.
