2 Petitioner participated in the process of selection for appointment of Assistant in the Collectorate. Vacancies were of 1998. Result of the process of selection was published in the year, 2008. Writ petition has been filed in the year, 2014 alleging that the respondent-authorities have violated the quota of reservation inasmuch as out of eight persons from Backward Class community, only one has been declared successful in the result published in the year, 2008.

Patna High Court CWJC No.13683 of 2014 dt.30-07-2019 2/2 3 Petitioner's counsel submits that the respondents have in fact admitted that one vacancy was available. However, his candidature has been rejected by saying that the claim is not tenable. The Communication referred to by petitioner's counsel is dated 05.03.2014. Rejection of the petitioner's claim is in the year, 2014.

4 Having regard to the fact that the petitioner has approached this Court six years after the process of selection has been closed and persons selected have continued for such a long time, this Court is not inclined to issue any direction for appointment at such a belated stage.

5 Prayer of the petitioner suffers with delay and laches. 6 Writ petition stands dismissed.
