The present petition has been filed seeking the following relief :- "(i) For issuance of writ of Mandamus or any other writ or writs, direction or directions commanding upon the respondents to issue appointment letter to the petitioner for the post of Constable, Central Reserve Police Force, in short C.R.P.F., Jhapahan, Muzaffarpur as his name stands mentioned in the list of recruitment of Constable(G.D.) 2011, a copy of which is annexed as Annexure-4 to this writ petition."

At the outset, the learned counsel for the parties admit that with the efflux of time, the present writ petition has been rendered infructuous, inasmuch as the selection process has stood completed long back.
