The writ petitioner prays for a direction upon the respondents for instituting an FIR on the basis of a report submitted by the petitioner disclosing cognizable offence. Dispute between the husband and the wife prompted the peittioner to submit a written report.

In the counter affidavit the factual background has been enumerated by the respondents- Superintendent of Police,

The law itself provides remedy to the petitioner by approaching the court of competent jurisdiction for the relief for institution of a criminal proceeding.

Counsel for the State has rightly submitted that no direction, as prayed in this petition can be issued. The application stands dismissed.
