2. The instant writ application has been filed for issuance of writ/writs, order/orders or direction/directions

Patna High Court CWJC No.14594 of 2022 dt.14-05-2026 2/3 particularly in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent no. 3, and respondent no. 9 to make the payment of compensation amount (award) with suitable interest to him on the ground that his raiyati land ad-measuring to an area of 0.02 acre, situated in the village -Daudnagar, Thana No. 50, bearing Khata No. 164 and plot no. 437 was acquired by the Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation Ltd., Patna in the year 2016-17 with the aid of the State Government for laying approach road to Nasriganj Sone Bridge.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner at this juncture submits that the authorities though have paid amount of compensation, however, they have not paid any interest and admittedly the land of the petitioner was acquired in the year 2017 and the payment has been made in the year 2023.

4. In view of such specific stand and admittedly no interest having been paid, the petitioner shall be at liberty to approach the District Magistrate, Aurangabad (respondent no. 2) with a prayer for payment of interest.

5. The petitioner shall also be at liberty to approach the appropriate court for redressal of his grievances, if the same subsists even after passing of an order granting/non-granting of interest on the compensation paid to him.

6. The petitioner shall file an appropriate representation within 4 weeks from today and the District Magistrate, Aurangabad, shall pass necessary orders within a period of two months thereafter. It goes without saying that an opportunity to the petitioner be given before passing any order.
