The petitioner apprehends his arrest in connection with Special Case No.55 of 2016 (Vigilance P.S. Case No.95 of 2016) registered under Section 13(2) read with Sections 13(i)(e) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, pending in the court of the Special Judge, Vigilance-I, at Patna.

The accusation is that the petitioner being the District Welfare Officer, Vaishali, earned the properties of Rs.1, 92, 63, 709/- in his service tenure, while his total salary during that period was Rs.75,00,000/-. As such, the petitioner earned the excess money by misusing the power of his post. Having considered the facts and the circumstances of

No.67435 of 2019(2) dt.15-11-2019 2/2 the case and the nature of allegation against the petitioner, I am not inclined to extend the privilege of pre-arrest bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the prayer of the petitioner for grant of privilege of pre-arrest bail stands rejected. However, the petitioner is directed to surrender before the trial court within four weeks from today and pray for regular bail, which shall be considered by the trial court in accordance with law without being prejudiced by the order of this Court.
